Next stop for Medicare retirees: Fall Enrollment🍂

fall foliage fall enrollment 20261-minute read

If you are a Medicare-eligible retiree in the Texas Employees Group Benefits Program (GBP), Fall Enrollment is your chance to enroll in or change coverage for yourself and/or your eligible dependents without a qualifying life event (QLE). You can make changes between Oct. 26 and Nov. 13, that become effective Jan. 1. If you don’t want to make changes, you don’t need to do anything. If you are a retiree not eligible for Medicare, your enrollment period ended in July, and you can’t enroll in new coverage without a QLE.

Your Fall Enrollment checklist

  • ☐ Open any mail with an ERS logo on it.
  • ☐ Review your Fall Enrollment guide and PBES.
  • ☐ Check the ERS Fall Enrollment website (available in October) for rate sheets, plan comparison charts and the events calendar.
  • ☐ Sign up for a webinar to learn about a specific plan.
  • ☐ Log in to your ERS Online account, mail in your election form or call ERS to make your changes.
  • ☐ Provide necessary documents by the correct deadline.
