The misdiagnosis of a serious illness can bring great consequences. Attorney Alvin de Levie outlines what to do if you experience a breast cancer misdiagnosis.

Unfortunately, despite growing awareness, many medical providers fail to properly diagnose breast cancer. More than 90,000 women have received breast cancer misdiagnoses.”

— Alvin de Levie, Esq.

PHILADELPHIA, PA, UNITED STATES, June 29, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Breast cancer is a serious problem in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in 2014 (the most recent numbers available), almost 237,000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States and over 41,000 of those women died from breast cancer. We have all seen the pink ribbons from organizations like the Susan G. Komen Foundation on bumper-stickers and t-shirts to raise awareness of breast cancer. Efforts that spread awareness of breast cancer are important, as the American Cancer Society notes those who begin receiving breast cancer treatment early have the highest survival rates.

Unfortunately, despite growing awareness in both the medical community and among the public, many medical providers fail to properly diagnose breast cancer. In this instance, it's important to hire a medical malpractice lawyer. According to a study of breast cancer survivors performed by the Susan G. Komen Foundation, more than 90,000 women received incorrect breast cancer diagnoses. Sometimes, a doctor may misread the patient’s symptoms and diagnose the patient with another medical problem, resulting in a misdiagnosis of breast cancer. Other times, the doctor may miss the symptoms entirely and incorrectly give the patient a clean bill of health, resulting in a failure to diagnose breast cancer. Because early intervention is so important to increase a breast cancer victim’s chances of survival, the failure to make a prompt and proper diagnosis wastes valuable time during which cancer can spread.

What Are The Symptoms Of Breast Cancer?

Symptoms of breast cancer vary from person to person. According to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, symptoms of breast cancer include:

-Skin changes, such as redness, swelling or noticeable differences in one or both breasts;
-An unexplained increase in size or shape of the breast;
-Nipple discharges (not including breast milk);
-Pain in or on any part of the breast;
-Lumps or nodes that can be felt on or inside of the breast;
-Changes in the appearance of one or both nipples (such as inverted nipples or swollen nipples).

The Cancer Treatment Centers of America also notes several symptoms of more invasive stages of breast cancer, including:

-Change in breast color;
-Peeling or flaking of the skin around the nipple;
-A breast lump or thickening of the breast; and
-Irritated or itchy breasts.

According to the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, women should get yearly mammograms starting at age 40 to detect early signs of breast cancer. Regardless of whether you have reached the age where annual screening is recommended, the American Cancer Society recommends that all women of any age be vigilant and report any changes in how their breasts look or feel to their health care provider immediately.

What Kinds Of Failures Lead To A Misdiagnosis Of Breast Cancer?

There are many kinds of negligence that leads either the misdiagnosis of breast cancer or the complete failure to diagnose breast cancer, including:

Breakdowns in Communication Between Doctor and Patient: Women with a family history of breast cancer are often are a higher risk than those without such a history. Medical providers sometimes fail to obtain a proper and thorough medical history that includes whether any relatives have been diagnosed with breast cancer. This can make a medical provider less diligent in examining the client for symptoms of breast cancer. Medical providers may also fail to follow up with their clients when they do report potential symptoms of breast cancer to ensure additional symptoms have not developed.

Breakdowns in Communication Between Medical Providers: The diagnosis and management of breast cancer often involves a chain of many different medical providers. Your doctor, radiologists, specialists and outside testing facilities all need to work as a team to ensure the proper screening and tests are performed and that the results of those tests get to the right medical providers in time. A breakdown in communication between these providers can result in several errors that can lead to misdiagnosis, such as failing to order the right test or a failure to promptly report adverse findings.

Incorrect Readings and interpretations of Diagnostic Tests: Many times, a misdiagnosis may be due to the simple fact the radiologist or doctor misreads diagnostic tests. The medical provider may miss a lump or node that appears on a mammogram or ultrasound and incorrectly tell the patient there is nothing to worry about. Other times, the medical provider reviewing the test results may interpret the results incorrectly, leading the provider to incorrectly decide that what is in fact breast cancer is merely inflammation or another kind of medical problem.

In either case, these failures prevent breast cancer from being discovered early and rob patients of their ability to increase their chance of survival by recognizing and treating their breast cancer early.

What Should I Do If My Doctor Has Misdiagnosed Breast Cancer?

First, you should seek treatment immediately. The key to surviving breast cancer is often early intervention. Seeking the proper treatment immediately after you suspect or are diagnosed with breast cancer greatly increases survival rates.

Second, contact an experienced attorney. DO NOT DELAY! Misdiagnosed breast cancer is generally due to medical malpractice or medical negligence. There is a Statute of Limitations in Pennsylvania that generally requires any medical malpractice lawsuit to be started within two (2) years of the medical malpractice or medical negligence which has caused your injuries. If you do not bring a lawsuit within the applicable two-year period, any claim that you may have will be forever barred. There are certain situations where the Statute of Limitations will be extended, but determining whether your case meet the requirements for an extension is extremely complicated. You will need an experienced attorney to review your case to see if it qualifies.

Like all medical malpractice cases, cases of misdiagnosed breast cancer are often much more complicated than other kinds of personal injury cases. Your attorney will often have to gather thousands of pages of medical records and have them reviewed by experts to determine whether the provider that misdiagnosed your cancer is guilty of medical malpractice or medical negligence. You need an experienced attorney with access to the right experts who can review the facts of your case to determine what kinds of claims you may make. Second, medical malpractice cases are often high-stakes cases that are heavily litigated and notoriously expensive. You need an attorney with the resources and perseverance to take your case all the way to trial if necessary.

Nebraska Mesothelioma Victims Center Now Urges a Public Utility Worker with Mesothelioma in Nebraska Or Their Family to Call for Instant Access to The Nation's Top Lawyers for Much Better Compensation

Please do not fall for Internet ads that suggest 'no lawsuit needed,' or that 'mesothelioma compensation is a result of submitting a claim form”

— Nebraska Mesothelioma Victims Center

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, USA, June 29, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Nebraska Mesothelioma Victims Center says, "We are appealing to a person with mesothelioma in Nebraska who had exposure to asbestos at a public utility, water/sewer district, or any type of power generating facility to call us anytime at 800-714-0303 to make certain they are talking directly to the nation's most skilled mesothelioma attorneys.

"While the best possible mesothelioma compensation might be deserved, a person with this rare cancer or their family will need to hire one of the nation's most skilled and experienced mesothelioma lawyers to earn a top client financial compensation settlement result. Please do not fall for Internet ads that suggest 'no lawsuit needed,' or that 'mesothelioma compensation is a result of submitting a claim form.' These suggestions are all total nonsense as we would like to discuss anytime at 800-714-0303." http://Nebraska.MesotheliomaVictimsCenter.Com

The Nebraska Mesothelioma Victims Center fears most public utility workers in the nation with mesothelioma will underestimate the value of their financial compensation claim. Typically, a mesothelioma financial compensation claim for a public utility worker with this rare cancer could start at about $500,000. However, if the diagnosed person does not hire one of the nation's most skilled mesothelioma lawyers and their legal team-the diagnosed person probably will not receive the very best possible financial compensation results.

"Before you hire a lawyer to assist a public utility worker in Nebraska with mesothelioma please call us anytime at 800-714-0303 for direct access to some of the nation's leading mesothelioma lawyers who will get the top compensation results for you or your loved one." http://Nebraska.MesotheliomaVictimsCenter.Com

For the best possible mesothelioma treatment options in Nebraska the Nebraska Mesothelioma Victims Center strongly recommends the following three heath care facilities with the offer to help a diagnosed victim, or their family get to the right physicians at each hospital. Creighton University Medical Center Omaha, Nebraska: http://www.creighton.edu/CancerCenter/, University of Nebraska Medical Center Eppley Cancer Center Omaha, Nebraska: http://www.unmc.edu/cancercenter/

Individuals in the state of Nebraska with mesothelioma could have been exposed to asbestos while serving in the US Navy or while working at a power plant, as a plumber, a boiler technician, as an auto repairman, as an electrician, or in the construction industry. In most cases, the exposure to asbestos took place in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, or 1980s. Mesothelioma typically takes three to five decades to develop. http://Nebraska.MesotheliomaVictimsCenter.Com

The states with the highest incidence of mesothelioma include Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maine, New Jersey, West Virginia, Florida, Wyoming, and Washington. However, mesothelioma does happen in Nebraska as the Nebraska Mesothelioma Victims Center would like to explain anytime at 800-714-0303.

For more information about mesothelioma please refer to the National Institutes of Health’s web site related to this rare form of cancer: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/mesothelioma.html

The Motor Car Group implemented telematics solution for Auto Dealerships in Eastern Europe with Bright Box

Bright Box, the global vendor of the Remoto Connected Car platform has now deployed its telematics solution with the Motor Car Group.

BUDAPEST, HUNGARY, June 29, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — In 2016, the Motor Car Group chose Bright Box as its permanent supplier of excellent service features and an innovative end-user communication channel. As a result, the Motor Car Group obtained an app allowing dealership customers to follow up on the latest news and promotions, instantly contact the dealer regarding any problems, sign up for services and maintenance, book a test drive at a convenient time, or receive personalized offers from dealerships. Over the last two years, the app has been downloaded by about 10,000 customers.

Recently Bright Box delivered a turnkey connected car platform: Remoto. It comprises a certified OBD dongle to be installed in the vehicle, a web-based control panel, and a custom app for contact with dealers. The My Car telematics service provided with the new release of the Customer Retention services makes the mobile app a unique aggregated information platform for dealerships and for the customer.

The My Car telematics solution enables a number of telematics applications, including central locking status, fuel level, battery level, odometer, tire pressure, and temperature, while customers have access to trip history and parking time.

Our new comprehensive Motor Car solution includes functionality developed just for Motor Car. Dealers can use odometer readings to help customers and send them notifications when maintenance is due. Dealers now have an excellent communications tool that keeps them in constant contact with their customers, so they're right there when they need them. Users also have a new feature in the update: they can now mark their trips as the business or private. This function was originally tested with Motor Car Group employees, but today it's available to all users of the app. Private companies can now track the usage of their fleets for work purposes and get information about fuel consumption, mileage, and driving habits. This functionality allows individuals to use the monthly reports they receive to interact more productively with their employers when, for example, getting reimbursed for travel or fuel expenses.

The new release brings a whole range of advantages, including an improved user interface for the mobile app. Customers can also choose their favorite brands from the twelve options available (Mercedes-Benz, Smart, Jeep, Honda, KIA, Opel, Hyundai, Toyota, and more), and a brand-based theme just for loyal customers will be applied to the app. Communicating with dealership consultants has also been improved in the new version. Information about a mechanic or consultant can now be added to the user's phone book right from the app.

“As time passed, we wanted to offer our customers something more than just signing in to the service and communicating directly with their favorite dealers. In co-operation with Bright Box, we decided to go to Remoto. This update required a good deal of preparation, not only from Bright Box but especially on the Motor Car side. It meant training all our employees within the Slovak Republic, technical support, firmware development for individual models, and continuous improvement of existing functionality. UAT has received the first positive feedback on how this solution works. We believe that this update will contribute to even better communication between the customer and the dealer. In any case, we are not standing still: we are continuing with development, and soon we will bring new features and models”, says Josef Balik, CIO of the Motor Car Group.

The app is currently available in two languages: English and Slovak. The full range of services has been deployed for eight Mercedes models and five KIA models in 38 dealerships in Slovakia. The list of vehicle makes and models will be expanded by the end of the year, as will the list of telematics and customer retention services.

FARGO, ND, UNITED STATES, June 28, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Fargo Moorhead Insurance, also known as FM Insurance, has announced they now have a new page on Twitter where they will be adding regular tweets about all things insurance and other topics of interest. The first tweet came on June 5 with plans for regular tweeting going forward.

Twitter is a popular social network option for businesses to reach busy customers or potential customers with just a few words. It is also used to promote blog posts, Facebook posts or other content that may be of value to the viewer. By joining Twitter, FM Insurance shows that it plans to stay up to date on the trends that impact its customers. Going forward, the agency plans to create original tweets as well as retweeting information from local businesses and organizations that will appeal to its customer base. Some of the topics followers can expect to see include data on driving and accidents, tips on safe driving, home ownership information, home safety, local events and more.

"We want to be more than just an insurance company," says a spokesman for FM Insurance. "We want to provide information to help people lead better lives." Some of the most basic tips on car and home safety provide information that people are not aware of. The agency plans to share statistics on driving in North Dakota, including accident rates and vehicle safety. For instance, on one of the first tweets from the agency, it showed where a person could still be intoxicated after sleeping for eight hours and receive a DUI the next day after a night of partying. Facts like this are often surprising to drivers and valuable aids in preventing accidents.

"One of our goals in having a Twitter account is to provide facts like this to help people be better, safer drivers," explains the spokesperson for FM Insurance. "We don’t plan to try to sell our products on social media but to help people be more aware of what they do and to provide content of real value."

FM Insurance is an independent agency providing auto insurance in Fargo and all of North Dakota as well as other personal and business insurance products such as life insurance and farm insurance. As an independent agency, FM Insurance can be more competitive on rates to meet a variety of budgets. The agency provides a personal element to getting insurance coverage instead of just relying on online quotes. They work with potential customers to help them find the coverage they need for their unique situation. The agency believes everyone is different with their own budgets and coverage requirements. Instead of using a one-size-fits-all approach, products are customized to provide the right amount of protection for each customer. FM Insurance wants to carry that personalized service to its social media content and provide messages that add value and have relevance to the market the agency serves. The agency hopes to have a big impact on the lives of its customers through Twitter and other social networks.

Recently the Department of Justice announced a $29.6-million-dollar settlement involving two medical practice groups and a hospital system involved in a referral kickback scheme. The allegations revolved around kickbacks for patient referrals. In this instance the scheme involved a hospital system admitting patients rather than seeing them on an outpatient basis. In this instance the whistleblowers (two medical doctors) will receive $6.2 million dollars for their information. http://Nevada.CorporateWhistleblower.Com

According to the Department of Justice, "On average, Medicare pays at least three times as much for an inpatient admission as it does for outpatient care."

The Nevada Corporate Whistleblower Center is inviting a medical doctor or healthcare professional to call them anytime at 866-714-6466 if they possess proof the following type of company is bribing medical doctors for referrals, purchases or admissions:

* A nursing home or skilled nursing facility bribing physicians for admissions

* A hospital bribing medical doctors for medically unnecessary patient admissions

* A pharmaceutical company bribing physicians to prescribe medications (needed or not needed)

* A hospice provider paying referrals to medical doctors-even if the patient is not dying

* A dialysis center bribing-physicians for referring new patients

* An Imaging Center bribing medical doctors for patients who may not need expensive imaging services such as an MRI or CT scan.

* An in-home healthcare provider that is bribing physicians to recommend their services.

* A blood testing company paying off medical doctors to prescribe medically unnecessary-expensive blood tests.

The Nevada Corporate Whistleblower Center says, "We are positive healthcare companies are paying kickbacks to some physicians in Nevada as well as every other state and the potential rewards can be significant provided the whistleblower has proof or an eyewitness account of what happened or is happening on an ongoing basis. If you possess this type of proof, please call us anytime at 866-714-6466 for a conversation about the potential value of your information. Why sit on a potentially winning lotto ticket without ever knowing what it might have been worth?" http://Nevada.CorporateWhistleblower.Com

Simple rules for a whistleblower from the Nevada Corporate Whistleblower Center: Do not go to the government first if you are a potential whistleblower with substantial proof of wrongdoing. The Nevada Corporate Whistleblower Center says, “Major whistleblowers frequently go to the government thinking they will help. It’s a huge mistake. Do not go to the news media with your whistleblower information. Public revelation of a whistleblower’s information could destroy any prospect for a reward. Do not try to force a company/employer or individual to come clean about significant Medicare fraud, overbilling the federal government for services never rendered, multi-million-dollar state or federal tax evasion, or a Nevada based company falsely claiming to be a minority owned business to get preferential treatment on federal or state projects. Come to us first, tell us what type of information you have, and if we think it’s sufficient, we will help you with a focus on you getting rewarded.”

Unlike any group in the US the Nevada Corporate Whistleblower Center can assist a potential whistleblower with packaging or building out their information to potentially increase the reward potential. They will also provide the whistleblower with access to some of the most skilled whistleblower attorneys in the nation. For more information a possible whistleblower with substantial proof of wrongdoing in Nevada can contact the Nevada Corporate Whistleblower Center at 866-714-6466 or contact them via their website at http://Nevada.CorporateWhistleBlower.Com

The New Mexico Dental Association Selects PCIHIPAA as an Endorsed Partner

The endorsement of PCIHIPAA is key to helping New Mexico dentists comply with HIPAA mandates and to provide solutions to protect practices.

Today, it's more important than ever that we help our members understand the risks surrounding patient data privacy and security.”

— Thomas Schripsema, President, New Mexico Dental Association.

ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO, UNITED STATES, June 26, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — The New Mexico Dental Association (NMDA) welcomes PCIHIPAA as a new Endorsed Partner. PCIHIPAA will help protect NMDA members from the onslaught of ransomware attacks, HIPAA violations, and data breaches impacting dental practices throughout New Mexico. Under HIPAA’s Security and Privacy Rules, healthcare providers are required to take proactive steps to protect sensitive patient information. The partnership comes on the heels of an important announcement surrounding HIPAA compliance regulation. The Director of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights recently stated, "Just because you are a small medical or dental practice doesn't mean we're not looking and that you are safe if you are violating the law. You won't be." In addition, according to the HHS website, a New Mexico dentist had 3,677 patient records stolen in January, 2018. Patient records are valuable to hackers as they continue to monetize the stolen data on the dark web.

“The New Mexico Dental Association has been part of the dental community in New Mexico since 1908. Today, it's more important than ever that we help our members understand the risks surrounding patient data privacy and security. We vetted many HIPAA compliance providers and believe PCIHIPAA’s OfficeSafe Compliance Program is the right solution for our members. We endorse PCIHIPAA and welcome them as part of our wonderful community of dentists. Their program takes the guesswork out of HIPAA compliance and is easy to implement. Our Members will experience savings, convenience and peace of mind." said Thomas Schripsema, President, New Mexico Dental Association.

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, OCR has received over 150,000 HIPAA complaints following the issuance of the Privacy Rule in April 2003. A rising number of claims filed under HIPAA in recent years have led many patients to question whether or not their personal payment and health information is safe. As the government has become more aggressive in HIPAA enforcement, large settlements have become widespread and rising penalties for HIPAA non-compliance are a reality.

 According to HHS.gov, the types of HIPAA violations most often identified are:

1) Impermissible uses and disclosures of protected health information (PHI)

2) Lack of technology safeguards of PHI

3) Lack of adequate contingency planning in case of a data breach or ransomware attack

4) Lack of administrative safeguards of PHI

5) Lack of a mandatory HIPAA risk assessment

6) Lack of executed Business Associate Agreements

7) Lack of employee training and updated policies and procedures

“We are proud to be added as an Endorsed Partner of the New Mexico Dental Association. They have a long and proud history of helping dentists succeed and prosper. Our program helps protect healthcare professionals with what they have worked so hard to achieve. If Equifax can get breached so can a dentist. We find that many practices don't have the resources to navigate HIPAA law, and are unaware of common vulnerabilities. We're excited to work with the NDMA and invite every member to conduct a complimentary Self-Assessment to quickly identity key vulnerabilities in their practice.” said Jeff Broudy, CEO of PCIHIPAA.
